I missed posting poems here. While I don’t think writing a poem a day is serving me right at this moment, I’m going to try out posting a new draft here a few times each week.

I needed a break from working with my father’s name, so I decided to try my mother’s with Paterson to see the difference (she is also from Bergen County, New Jersey). I once again used the hybrid beautiful in-law erasure technique I came up with last month.

A note that I’m going to start using WordPress’s tagging function on my posts, but for a little while at least it will be incompletely applied. This blog needs some organizational work that I can’t get to right now. So in the meantime don’t expect tags to lead to all posts that should have that tag.

Here’s this morning’s poem:

a sea
a Latin
gathering
a terms
an it
is it
is in all
a start
general
the means
the trees else
is there
the rest
the lame
three legs
scratch
eat since
nothing there
a nine
the man
it can’t
in a certain
the tight is in
the same it is
the rising
in the risen
that in this
a man in his is
in the
let him lest he
the stale
than a great
clatter as air
seas mathematics
as the mists
encircles
shells
man
